The International Center for Creative Writing Research (ICCWR) conducts many many events and activities. Now for over a dozen years, the ICCWR has supported video-linked worldwide seminars and conferences, online chats, workshops, creative and/or critical exchanges, 'on-site' readings, conferences, seminars, workshops and talks. At present, events are conducted in the English language; however, there is no reason events could not be conducted in other languages, and we welcome all suggestions for events and activities.

The ICCWR is non-institutional - meaning, it is not a Center "based-at . . . " or "located in . . . ". Rather, the ICCWR works through international collaboration and mutual exchange. The ICCWR's remit is to openly investigate knowledge, understanding and experience in the field of Creative Writing. The word "research" is seen to entail both creative practice and critical understanding.

Forthcoming:

100 Minutes of Creative Writing, June 30 2016, a global invited event to celebrate 100 hours of ICCWR activities from 1998 to 2016. Participants from the USA, UK, Australasia and beyond. 100 minutes of discussions, readings, presentations.

Recent events supported by the ICCWR include**:

Great Writing: the International Creative Writing Conference, Imperial College, London, June 18-19, 2016. Now in its 19th year. Creative writers from around the world meet to explore the practice, teaching and researching of creative writing. Almost every country in the world has been represented at some point at Great Writing. While the majority of presenters and participants are from the UK, USA and Australia, creative writers from China, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, Malaysia, Nigeria, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, Greece, Croatia, UAE, and many more!

Changing Creative Writing in America - November 19-20, 2015. In April 2015, the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) held its 2015 annual national conference in the "twin city" of Minneapolis. In November 2015, the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) will also hold its annual convention, "Responsibility, Creativity, and the Arts of Language" in the city of Minneapolis. This "twinning" of interests and commitments and enthusiasms seems so clearly to represent the need to look to building bridges between those with interests in creative writing wherever they are based in US education, to look to the future, to the possibilities and indeed developments and developing the practice and teaching of creative writing. With this in mind, we aim to host (in Minneapolis in November during the time of the NCTE conference) an historic off-site event entitled "Changing Creative Writing in America".
